Secretary General, FAI (Fencing Association of India) Mr. Rajeev Mehta alongwith Treasurer, FAI (Fencing Association of India) Mr. Bashir Ahmed Khan today visited Sanskardham Academy in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Mr. Mehta and Mr. Khan were presented a detailed presentation about the Sports Infrastructure that is present in the academy. They also took a full inspection of the campus including the Archery Range, Shotting Range, Fencing Hall, Gymnasium, Badminton and Table Tennis Hall, Football Ground as well as the Residential Area including the Girls and Boys hostels, the Mess and the Dining Areas. Mr. Mehta promised to turn Sanskardham Academy into a Khelo India National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) and to provide the best possible facilities and support and to host National and International Fencing Championships as well as to provide first class training exposure to the NCOE fencers. Mr. Mehta and Mr. Khan also took a visit to the Sports Authority of Gujrat(SAG), Nadiad centre, wherein they inspected the Sports Complex and interacted with the athletes. It is also worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi stayed in the Sanskardham Academy before he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat. The other dignitaries present in Sanskardham Academy today were: Bharatji Thakor (Secretary General-Amateur Fencing Association of Gujarat State), Col. Rakesh Yadav (Jt. CEO TOPS), P K Raghav (Regional Director-SAI Gandhinagar), Krishan Raymaji (High Performance Manager-SAI Delhi), Jeevan Sharma (Judo TIDC member), Bharatji Thakor (Secretary-Amateur Fencing Association of Gujarat State), Dilipbhai Thakar -Trustee Sanskardham) and Maheshwari ji (CAO Sanskardham).
